Question:
We have tested a Baumuller DSG 56M servo which uses Heidenhain ECN1313 Endat Serial Encoder. The encoder had a light source problem. When we choose the BR memory selection, ıt shows us a memory about encoder and the information is right. We will align a new encoder.
-
Do we have to copy the memory from old encoder to the new one.
-
Will just adjusting UV lock up angle be adequate?
-
Since the serial number of the new encoder will be different, will it be a problem for the driver to run the motor?
Answer:
-
Any time that the original encoder contains memory data, then that data should be written to the replacement encoder. Since we do not have a specific Baumuller memory test you will need to send us the memory file for analysis.
-
Where you able to record the alignment on the original encoder? The Baumuller standard alignment is +U-V=90E, +U-W=150E.
-
We do not have enough knowledge about the individual drives to know if the new encoder serial number will be an issue. In most cases it is not a problem.
