The standard connections for most Rexroth MSK series motors will use the TI-5093 cable with the TI-5104 module and power cable TI-3025. These MSK motors use SICK Stegmann Hiperface and Heidenhain EnDat encoders. Use our Rexroth MSK memory software to test, read, align and program the encoder with unique motor data if needed.
You may notice that the SICK encoders that come on these Rexroth motors have a special "S01" suffix, such as SKS36-HFA0-S01, or SKM36-HFA0-S01. However, the only encoder models you can buy directly from SICK are the stock "K01" or "K02" models, such SKS36-HFA0-K01 or SKM36-HFA0-K02.
The K01/K02 encoders can be used as replacements so long as the corresponding Rexroth controller firmware is below version MPx-V20. If the controller firmware is MPx-V20 or higher, then the K01/K02 encoders will not work and instead you need to use the encoder model type with the S01 suffix.
These S01 encoders are not for sale from SICK. Most of our customers go to eBay or similar to find the S01 models. Our software is fully compatible with all versions of encoders, and we can read/write memory without issue. The Rexroth controller firmware version is the only thing that determines if the K01/K02 encoders will work or not.
