Overview
The Indramat (Bosch/Rexroth) 2AD are air-cooled asynchronous (spindle) motors. Like any asynchronous spindle motor, they do not require alignment of the feedback device (if equipped), and they cannot be run on our TI-3000JX.
Encoders
Below is a table with the different encoders that can come equipped on these motors.

Feedback Connections
For encoder Options 6, 7, 8, and 9, the TI-5021 test cable and TI-5104 adapter module are used. You will be testing these using the BRI_I2C encoder selections in Athena. The only memory data stored in these encoders when used on spindle motors is the feedback identifier code, while everything else is blank.

For the encoder options C and D, the encoder can be tested with either the TI-5613 cable (9 pin M23) or the TI-5022 test cable (12 pin M23). These will be tested using the Generic Incremental software in Athena.

Type Code Descriptions
The type code on the motor's nameplate is used to identify the type of feedback device equipped with the motor, below you will find an example on how the manual list the part number identifier:
