Overview
These are permanent-magnet synchronous motors that will normally come equipped with an incremental encoder, 2500ppr (10,000 count) or two possible options with BiSS encoders a 21 bit single turn type or with a 20 bit single turn absolute encoder and 12 bit multi-turn function.
General Information
Image 1. "Nameplate Configuration".
Note: The "M" identifier isn't listed in the English version manuals from Siemens you can only find a reference of the encoder by looking at the Spanish version.
Image 2. "Nameplate Configuration (Spanish)".
The "L and M" encoders appear to be using the BiSS protocol and the "A" type encoder can be tested with the software selection as "Generic Incremental".

- Note: For the "Absolute Encoder" notice how it's a 20 bit + 12 bit, our software would normally list it as "1220" however we don't have that option yet so the "1219 BiSS Serial Encoder" selection would work best the same applies for the 21 bit single turn encoder.
Connection
We currently don't have a matching test cable for the connectors it will be best to wire the encoder directly to our tester. Below you will find the connection configuration for both type of encoders. For the BiSS encoders, our TI-5079 test cable is often the correct match for a direct connection to the encoder.
