FESTO EMME-AS, EMMS-AS and EMMT-AS Series

The Festo EMMx-AS series servo motors come equipped with different types of feedback devices such as Resolvers, Heidenhain EnDat encoders, and SICK Stegmann Hiperface encoders. When using serial encoders, Festo stores memory data that includes a unique alignment. Make sure the alignment of the encoder matches the angles in the memory data. Our Festo memory support is currently in development and is set to be released soon. Contact us for memory reports until the support is available in Athena. 

EMME-AS

This series of motors come with SICK Stegmann Hiperface inductive encoders, including SEK/SEL 34/37 series and the SKM36 Safety encoder. There is currently no run support for the low resolution SEK/SEL encoders, but we are actively working on support for them.  See below for the motor model identification.

We don't currently offer test cables matching these connectors, however, we can still test the encoder with the "Direct-to-Encoder" cable TI-5094 and the TI-5104 adapter module.

EMMS-AS

The EMMS-AS series motors could come equipped with a resolver or Heidenhain EnDat ECI1118 / EQI1130 serial encoders. The serial encoders do not use the incremental outputs (serial signal only), so our Line Levels test will not show correct values.

We currently don't have a cable for the connectors above however the encoder type EnDat 2.1 can still be tested using the feedback cable TI-5668 (Direct-to-Encoder). 

The cable used for the EnDat encoders with M12 8 Pin connector is the : TI-5662 and for the power connection we have cables: TI-3027 (M23) and TI-3048 (M40). 

The cable used for the motors equipped with a resolver is the TI-5901 (M23) and for the power connectors : TI-3027 (M23) and TI-3048 (M40).

EMMT-AS

The newer EMMT-AS series motors come with a single Hybrid connector for the power and feedback lines. We do not yet offer the hybrid test cable, so you will need to connect to the encoder directly. The EMMT-AS motors can come with Heidenhain EnDat ECI1118/EQI11130 series encoders used on the smaller frame size motors (60-80), and the ECI1119/EQI1331 series encoders used on the larger frame size motors (100-190).
