Overview
The Mitsubishi HG series are rotary servo motors from the later end of the Melservo J4 drives. They mostly come equipped with OBA/OSA18 encoders although they are often listed as 22-bit in the Mitsubishi manuals. The encoders may have part numbers printed on them such as OBA/OSA24R, however, the Mitsubishi manual states that all HG-xR series motors will use the same legacy OBA/OSA18 encoder ID.
The main difference with the HG series is that the feedback connections have moved to the newer 2-wire serial data connector pinouts, compared to the legacy 4-wire data pinouts from earlier series motors. We list the compatible test cables in the information below.
Models
The series has different model options that are listed below:
HG-MR, HG-KR, HG-SR, HG-JR, HG-RR, HG-UR, HG-AK, HG-KN, HG-SN
Feedback Types
The HG-MR, HG-SR, HG-JR, HG-RR and HG-UR series are listed as using 22-bit serial encoders but all test using the OBA/OSA18 selections.
The HG-KN and HG-SN models are not as common, and are tested using the OBA/OSA17 selection.
The HG-AK model is not as common, and are tested using the OBA/OSA18 selection.
Connection Types
The TI-5658 is used for testing with the 9 pin Tyco connection.
The TI-5732 is used for testing with the 10 pin DDK connection.
The TI-5744 is used for testing with the 17 pin MS connection.
We do not currently offer a matching test cable for the HG-AK series motors.
