TI-3000JX QuickStart Guide

License Checkout

1. Connect the TI-3000JX to the PC with the USB (or RS232) cable and turn it on.
2. Start WinTI5000JX
3. On System Setup, choose the correct COM Port for the TI-3000JX connection. Click 'Ok' to save settings.
4. After setting the COM Port, it should automatically go to the 'View Licenses + Credits' under the 'Utilities' menu. Click 'Checkout Software and press 'Yes'.
5. The TI-3000JX will continue to run on the last settings even after the 30 minutes period has ended.

Selecting Motor/Feedback Manufacturer

1. Press and use and to move between the various licensed options. A blinking cursor will remind you of the current field you are changing. On certain licenses, you will use the FIELD button to change the encoder type after making the primary license selection.

Setup Mode

1. Once the licenses have been selected, press to edit the options if necessary.
2. Use to move around the different setup fields. will change the values of these fields, such as poles and direction.
3. 
   Use the number keypad to enter values for lockup angles and encoder counts/rev.

Testing

1. After everything has been set correctly, press to enter the modes of operation.
   The TI-3000JX uses the same buttons for the various operation commands as does the
   original TI-3000.
   

DEBUG

1. First, press to debug the setup, and make sure you can safely run it. This will require to:
   1. 1. lock the motor with +U-V. You should see the following pattern:
         
         • • U        V      W
           • H/L     H      L
           • H/L means that, while you wiggle the shaft a little, you should see a transition from High to Low.
      2. Lockup the motor with +U-W. The following pattern will appear:
         
         • • U      V      W
           • L       H     L/H
   2. After we see those 2 patterns to correctly show on screen, we can run the motor safely.

RUN

1. Press the button. Set the potentiometer to 0 and clear the workspace to run the motor safely. Press Run again, the motor will start spinning.
2. Move the potentiometer to control the speed and direction of rotation of the motor.

STOP

Whenever you want to stop these tests, you can press .
