Generic brush type permanent magnet motors can be run using the TI-3000JX system. There is no setup entry required to run them. Since they are brush motors, there is no feedback type to be selected for commutation purposes. However, if the motor utilizes an incremental encoder, it may be connected to the TI-3000JX. The TI-3000JX can then use the Z pulse to time revolutions for an RPM reading. If there is no encoder, then the RPM reading will always be zero. Since the brush type motors have only two armature leads (+ and -), only two of the armature leads from the amplifier are used. The leads that should be used are U and V. The W lead should not be connected. The DEBUG key has no function for brush type motors. Pressing the RUN key will enable the amplifier, and the motor should run with the desired speed and direction as determined by the setting of the speed potentiometer.
